    Our October program focuses on the open-ended theme of "Tradition". Participants will explore the theme through the discussion of the book, Station Eleven, and a short video. We have free copies of the book to give to the first eight (8) registered participants. Vilas County Lake Conservation Specialist, Quita Sheehan, will facilitate the science end of things with the first science topic focusing on traditon.

    Join us at the Olson Memorial Library on Wednesday, October 4th at 6:30 pm for Science On Tap Live! This is a live streamed event held at Olson Memorial Library. We will listen to the face-to-face presentation given at the Minocqua Brewing Company. Participant discussion will follow using an Olson Library tablet. Topic: Birds in the Northwoods - Impacts of Human Activity Presenters: Eric Anderson, retired UW Stevens Point and Dr. Alan Haney, is an Emeritus Professor of Forestry at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Eric & Alan will explore the landscape and biodiversity of the northern Midwest in the face of climate change and other human caused disturbances. Drawing upon their forty years of field research they will discuss how relationships between nesting birds and their habitats are affected. Root beer and pretzels will be served. Participants will explore the theme through the discussion of the book, How Enlightenment Changes Your Brain: The New Science of Transformation, and a short video. We have free copies of the book to give to the first eight (8) registered participants. Vilas County Lake Conservation Specialist, Quita Sheehan, will facilitate the science end of things with the first science topic focusing on transformation.

What is a Memory Café? .. . a gathering for people with early stage dementia, mild memory loss or cognitive impairment AND their care partners, family or friends. It is a safe, supportive environment where people can learn, laugh, and remain socially engaged with others traveling the same journey.
