Foundation Directory Online Professional (FDO)
Olson Memorial Library In-Library access only; limited access.
Access to this resource is provided by the generous contributions of several local non-profit and local business organizations who have Priority access.
The Foundation Directory Online Professional Edition provides timely, comprehensive information on grantmakers and their grants. It includes descriptions of over 96,000 foundations, corporate giving programs, and grantmaking public charities in the U.S.; a database of over 3,500 sponsoring companies; a database of over 1.5 million recently awarded grants; and a keyword-searchable database of over 561,000 recently filed IRS Forms 990 and 990-PF.
A Library staff member must log requestors into the site. When finished please log out to allow other users access to the database. The Library's subscription allows only 2 concurrent users.
Priority access: Local Contributors and their designees have priority access and may supersede access by other library users. Local Contributor access is on a first come, first served basis unless a reservation has been made (see list below).
Public library user access: General public library users (Non-Contributors) are provided access with the understanding that their session may be interrupted by a Contributor. A ten minute usage window will be authorized to a public library user should a Contributor request access.
Reservations: Contributors may make a reservation for 2 hour usage sessions by calling the library at 479-8070. Sessions may be extended if no other users are waiting for access. Non-Contributors may make reservations for usage but may be superseded by a Contributor with or without a reservation.
Access credentials: The library may not share the login/password with users (per FDO agreement). Library staff will privately enter the login credentials first, and then users may access the database. Please ask for Nan, Pat or Mickee when requesting use of FDO.
Note: This is a one-year subscription which may be renewed annually, by joint agreement, each February. New Contributors will be accepted at any time; please contact the Library Director.
