    Did you receive a FREE calendula plant for your garden in early June from the Olson Seed Library? Collect some petals, if you have any, and bring them along. Learn to make salve and about other medicinal uses of calendula. This workshop is lead by Sandy Roelle of MountainDreamz; Tuesday from 10am to noon. All costs for this event are paid by our Friends of the Library, W.O.L.F. Please call to pre-register.

    The Walter E. Olson Memorial Library welcomes local author and musician, Tom Palmer, for an author signing. Tom will have his benefit concert CDs and his book, Fly in Formation: One Professional Athletes' Journey, Dreams and Bi-polar Battle, available to sign for a goodwill donation. All proceeds go to The Rock Mission Center located in Eagle River.

    Join us for the FIRST event in our first Artist in Residence Series. Our series theme is "RePurpose and UpCycle"! Come to the library and Learn about Natural Dyeing with Calendula and Other Plants. Did you receive a FREE calendula plant for your garden in early June from the Olson Seed Library?     Identity theft continues to be the fastest growing crime in the United States. The more you learn about it, the less vulnerable you are. The Wisconsin Bureau of Consumer Protection will explain the different types of identity theft, how to recognize it and how to prevent it – including information about Fraud Alerts and Security Freezes. Receive tips for safeguarding personal information and how to spot the red flags of a scam. You will also be given helpful brochures to take home with you. Presenter: Jeff Kersten is the Agency Liaison for the Bureau of Consumer Protection within the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection. As the Agency Liaison, Jeff travels around the state to educate the public, businesses and law enforcement on the importance of privacy protection and data security. Jeff has over 12 years of prior experience as a police officer and is a former Investigator for the Bureau of Consumer Protection.
